A few months ago, Meta began rolling out its Meta AI, a ChatGPT-like AI chatbot, across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger in India. The service leverages Llama 2 for text-based interactions and Llama 3 for image generation.
On Instagram, Meta AI can be accessed by swiping right from the main screen and tapping the top search bar in the DM section. Once opened, you can interact with Meta AI by asking questions or selecting from pre-written prompts. Conversations with the chatbot will then appear in your Messages.
What can Meta AI do on Instagram?
Meta AI, using Llama 2 and Llama 3 models, offers a range of functions including creating custom stickers, drafting captions, writing messages, generating images, planning trips, summarizing lengthy text, and providing the latest news headlines.
Meta has not integrated the chatbot with personal conversations, addressing privacy concerns. Instead, you can use Meta AI to enhance your messages by rephrasing, shortening, lengthening, or adding emojis. To modify a message, tap the pencil icon next to the text bar.
Unlike full-fledged chatbots, Meta AI is designed to be a practical tool for getting information without leaving the Instagram app. It can assist with tasks like trip planning and finding recipes but does not analyze files.
