Veteran Ghanaian actor Akwasi Boadi, widely known as Akrobeto, has expressed his views on the recent accident involving his colleague LilWin, which tragically led to the death of a 3-year-old boy, Tawiah Ampomah.
Akrobeto noted that LilWin’s involvement in the accident and his subsequent actions have not reflected well on his public image and societal role.
He praised the Ghana Police Service for detaining LilWin for questioning, stressing the importance of applying the law equally to everyone, regardless of their prominence.
Speaking on UTV, Akrobeto advised fellow celebrities to behave in ways that set positive examples for their fans.
We, as public figures, must lead lives that inspire others and avoid such incidents.”
Akrobeto continued, “When you stray from the right path, the law will intervene without exception.
Pastor Owusu Bempah, for example, was taken into custody and later apologized.
There have been others who faced legal consequences for their actions,” he said in Twi.
LilWin was detained by police on Monday, June 3, 2024, after being discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
He has since been granted bail of GH¢50,000, and the case has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.
The incident has sparked discussions on the responsibilities of public figures and the importance of adhering to the law, regardless of one’s status.
