At just one year old, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the youngest male artist to achieve such a feat.
At only one year and 152 days old, Ace-Liam broke the previous record set by Dante Lamb in 2003, who was three years old at the time.
Ace-Liam’s record-breaking journey began with a significant event in Accra between January 18 and 20, 2024, leading to his recognition.
His mother, Chantelle Kuukua Eghan, an experienced artist of eight years, expressed her pride in his talent to the BBC, hoping he will have a lasting impact in the art world.
“Ace-Liam intuitively understands which colours blend well,” she noted, having noticed his artistic abilities when he was just six months old.
His pieces needed to meet professional standards, be independently created, and have supporting evidence.
Ace-Liam’s work was displayed at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra from December to early January, where he sold nine out of ten pieces.
His art caught the attention of the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who commissioned a piece during the exhibition.
As he nears his second birthday in July, Ace-Liam has already sold 15 paintings and is preparing for an upcoming auction.
