After much anticipation, the highly awaited 25th edition of the annual Telecel Ghana Music Awards finally unfolded.
The prestigious event took place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on June 1, 2024.
With meticulous preparations, including lighting adjustments and final stage setups, the venue was poised for a night of exceptional music and vibrant performances.
Despite initial delays and technical issues affecting the red carpet and opening performance, the event, spanning about seven hours, gained momentum as it progressed, buoyed by the enthusiastic crowd and unexpected acts.

King Promise kicked off the night with a medley of his hits, beginning with “CCTV,” showcasing a grand performance accompanied by a troupe of dancers holding illuminated torches.
Gospel Artist of the Year, Nacee, wowed the audience with a live rendition of “Aseda,” backed by a marching band, and paid homage to the late Koda.
Efya’s captivating performance, adorned in a dazzling white dress and suspended swing, earned her high praise.
Stonebwoy stole the show with a dynamic set, featuring hits like “Life and Money,” “Manodzi,” and “Overlord.”

A tribute to Highlife legend Amakye Dede, recipient of the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award, saw Kwabena Kwabena, Akwaboah, Eno Barony, and Epixode delivering heartfelt renditions of his songs.
The night also celebrated music from the early 2000s, with artists like Tblaze, Mzbel, Okyeame Kwame, and Akatakyie performing classics such as “16 Years” and “Woso,” while Reggie Rockstone delivered a speech reminiscing about Ghana’s musical heritage.
