Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known as Kidi, a Lynx Entertainment signed musician, has also added his voice to the never-ending debate about the impact of the video-sharing platform TikTok on the Ghanaian music industry.
This comes after a comment made by TikToker Asantewaa sparked numerous controversies on social media. In an interview on the United Show segment, Asantewaa hinted that musicians will never be able to trend with their songs without the help of TikTokers.
She claimed that no matter how well Ghanaian musicians have mastered their craft over the years, they will still require the help of TikTokers to get their songs trending on social media.
Speaking on the “Deep Throat Convo” in a Twitter Space interview with @OleleSalvador. Kidi stated that TikTok has provided a very important avenue for musicians to promote their songs, and that musicians must use the avenue wisely.
He stated that there are certain changes that must be embraced rather than challenged, and thus he believes the impact of TikTok on the music industry should be embraced.
Kidi went on to say that, regardless of the existence of traditional media, Ghanaian musicians must use social media to elevate their brands to greater heights.
