Tiwa Savage Announces Her Debut Tour in North America

Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian-born ‘Queen of Afrobeats,’ has announced her first North American headlining tour, ‘Water & Garri.’ Tiwa Savage will perform in 17 cities across North America, beginning on May 15 in New York and ending on June 19 in Toronto. Tiwa’s tour comes after the release of her Water & Garri EP in 2021, which features Nas, Brandy, and Amaarae, among others. Tiwa’s first effort after the critically acclaimed album Celia in 2020 is the Water & Garri EP.

“It’s tough to think, but this is truly my first North American tour!” says Tiwa Savage. I’ve received a lot of love from my American fans, so I’m really looking forward to performing there.”

Savage, the most popular female African musician on social media, has a unique gift for combining afrobeat, r&b, soul, and pop sounds, and as a consequence, she seamlessly connects with fans all over the world. She has dominated the charts in her native nation and established a worldwide reputation. Savage is transforming the global face of music and is a trailblazer of African music globally, from becoming the first female to win Best African Act at the MTV European Music Awards to being named one of the Most Inspirational Women by US fashion bible Vogue. Savage made history once more in 2020 when he graced the cover of Billboard’s first-ever edition dedicated solely to Africa and its diverse musical landscape.

Savage has a diverse and excellent resume. By the time she began her solo career in the early 2010s, Savage had already collaborated with Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Frank Ocean, Mary J. Blidge, and Kelly Clarkson, in addition to being hand-picked by Beyonce to co-write a song for the soundtrack to The Lion King: The Gift.

Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Fireboy, Joeboy, and others have all performed on Duke Concept’s tour. The obvious producer for the Queen of Afrobeats as she embarks on her next tour of the United States is Duke Concept.

The Tiwa Savage tour goes on sale to the general public on Friday, March 25 at 10 a.m. local time.
